Going down memory lane today. On this day in 1982, I started an adventure that continued until I retired in July 2014. Yes, I took my oath to begin life as a federal employee and what a journey I had. From the people I met; to the places I visited and cultures I learned about; and all the work I completed along the way; it was quite a ride. As in any other career, it had its ups and downs, but I don't regret anything (I learned quite a bit about myself and others in the down times). I made friends for life and although I no longer work with any of them, we are connected and get together whenever possible (of course Covid put a kibosh on this). Plus, when I think about all the other opportunities that opened for me through the years that would not have happened if I had not ventured out of my hometown, I know I am blessed. I cannot imagine how my life would be if I had not started the adventure.
Overall, the past week went well for me. My clients are doing well. My one client received her first vaccine shot. She was ecstatic and did not even mind the sore arm. My other client and his spouse got their second shots and had little after effects except tiredness.
I registered on Friday for the vaccine (Virginia has a statewide online registration site) so we'll see how long it takes. It was easy to register. I don't care which shot I get as long as I get it at some point.
This past week I finished: "MURDER THY NEIGHBOR" James Patterson and Andrew Bourelle; "MURDER IRL" by James Patterson and Max DiLallo; and "IN THE DARK OF WAR" by Sarah M. Carlson. All good reads.
