I'm not sure if you agree or not, but sometimes it feels the world is spinning out of control. So much happening. We know there are no perfect people, but it's disheartening in many ways when there is abuse of power by those entrusted to protect. I try to have faith in the justice system and sometimes it comes through. The chaos of the world can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you're prone to anxiety. With so much information coming at us, how do you know the facts and how to do you filter out the noise? I turn off the TV news; play games, listen to music, hibernate, read books, count my blessings, etc. Each person has their own way of calming their swirl and I hope you find something that works for you. There are several great meditation tools available and it's free to walk outside.
I know there are less restrictions as people are getting vaccinated, but I'm still leery of venturing out. It freaks me out a little when I see large gatherings for sports and events. If I did not work I would probably never leave the house. And, I don't seem to be even caring at this point about jumping back into anything specific. I'll get there at some point, but keeping my circles small still seems to be a good idea at least for me. I know I'll continue to wear a mask for a while for at least some sort of protection.
Busy week at work. Always a good day when the client is willing to take a few walks and enjoy some fresh air. We sat in the sun and listened to music (I carry a mini speaker). Each client has a little bit more assistance these days and it seems to be helping. I noticed one of my clients is watching less TV news, she used to have it on for 90% of the day (really loud) so it's nice to be able to sit and have a conversation and hear her stories.
Last Sunday afternoon as I finished my last load of laundry, the washing machine decided to leak water all over the floor. So strong woman that I am, I pulled the machine away from the wall (laundry room is so tight) and grabbed many towels. The repair person comes Monday so hopefully it will be fixable. Well, I never fixed the toilet last week as it stopped running. But, the handle/trip level has now broken so I ordered a new one online and will install this week. Guess I'll try to be Harriett homemaker at some point in the next few days.
This past week I finished reading: "ANXIOUS PEOPLE" by Fredrik Backman. Lots of characters and interesting storyline. I also caught up on a few Hallmark spring movies.
