I had a very good week. We arrived home from Rehoboth Beach last Sunday afternoon, unpacked and repacked to head to a spa resort on Monday in High View, West Virginia. Its called Capon Springs and Farm and has been family owned for over 90 years. I came upon it a few months ago when looking for nearby places for a road trip. I call it a smaller version of Kellermans (hopefully you are old enough to understand that reference). The resort is only open from spring until late fall, but the spa is open all year and since it's close by already thinking about day trip in winter. You know I took advantage of a couple of spa treatments. Talk about taking time to relax...you basically disconnect as there are only two places on the resort that have internet capability. It was weird to have no TV, phone or connectivity, but at the same time...so nice. They have a mixture of rooms and cottages and serve food in the dining hall, family style. There were a couple of groups there and it did seem many people were repeat guests. I must have been relaxed as I slept 10 hours per night (simply amazing) in the quiet. I did some walking around the property and played a couple of lawn games.
We came back to reality on Wednesday. We stopped at a farm stand on the way home and I did go a little crazy...LOL! Our new washing machine arrived Thursday evening and those guys worked very hard to get the old one out and the new one in. We have a very small laundry room and doorway, but they got it done. When I bought the machine I tried very hard to be sure I measured appropriately and phew I got it right. You can imagine what I've been doing since Friday.
I received my latest Covid vaccine on Wednesday and gave lots of blood for my pre-treatment testing. I bet my medication would change as I could tell by how I felt. I had my eighth treatment on Friday and it went very well. I took a little nap during treatment as the area was not as busy as usual. Of course, my thyroid medication was changed again as I expected after reading my blood test results. As I said previously, it seems every three weeks something changes. Overall, I feel good and count my blessings.
Believe it or not I did some cooking yesterday and will do some more today. Trying to have meals prepped and ready to eat so I don't graze. Yesterday, I made a sort of Mexican pasta as I put a little of this and that. It turned out really good and made enough for a few meals. Today, doing something with chicken, but have not decided what yet...it will come to me, but the idea has not fully taken shape yet.
This past week I finished reading: "TO TASTE THE WINE" by Fern Michaels - love and secrets in 19th century London and Australia. "THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE" by Richard Osman - 2nd book featuring The Thursday Murder Club - funny and suspenseful.
