Are you ready for Super Bowl Sunday? It might be a bit different this year for many without huge parties. It does not impact me that much as I like to stay home and hunker down. I usually watch the puppy bowl first and some of pre-game hype. I'm trying my hand at baked spinach dip. I'm also making chicken wings with a different recipe (at least for me). Are you creating any masterpieces today? We'll see how the ads go this year. I'm rooting for the Bucs because of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski! It's so weird to see them in different uniforms.
My workweek went well. I worked every day including a few hours yesterday. I was kept busy at both places although the needs are a bit different. With one client I'm doing a bit of food prepping as she hates to cook for herself. Thursday for the first time in quite a while she actually put on the TV (at high volume) and watched the news. She commented along the way. I think if I was sitting with her instead of cooking in the kitchen she would have kept the TV off. But since I was in the kitchen I was able to clean out the pantry and cabinets of expired goods. I picked up a few groceries (she gave me a specific list). She wanted me to take her credit card, but I told her I was not comfortable and her daughter's would pay me. She liked that idea. My other client kept me busy on my days with him. He and I went out to lunch yesterday. It gave him a walk to my car (a bit further than his spouse normally parks) and a different view. I was able to observe him in a different environment which is important. .
I had my dental check up/cleaning the other day. He has always practiced hygiene safety precautions so it does not bother me to see him. He and his staff just completed vaccine protocols. I think for the first time in a long time, my check up went very well. We talked about how some people are ignoring their dental health (especially the elderly) which can lead to other health issues. Some of his clients are older and they are more nervous about coming for checkups or have no one to bring them. Luckily, both of my clients have regular checkups.
I finished reading: "HILLBILLY ELEGY" by J. D. Vance. Such a powerful read, hard at points, but for me a learning experience. I know it's on Netflix, but I have not seen anything on Netflix and would rather read a book.
