I hope you had a good week and got things done as you needed. I had a busy week filled with lots of little things. I got many things done, some unexpectedly, as I usually say life interferes with life. In the bigger picture they were not a big deal, but since I was tired they seemed to slow me down further. Of course, I almost always feel that I should be able to accomplish more. How about you? Why do we always feel the need to be super human? Or is it only me?
Mema had a good week. I got to play with her in physical therapy. It's fun to see her in a different environment and be animated. She had fun playing balloon toss and the staff teased her about how she does not even look just swipes at the balloon. They have her in a standing chair to stretch out her legs and then she even walks a little. She has been sleeping later and later and now waits for my dad to bring coffee and a donut. They relax together and then the staff gets her dressed for the day. She showed a bit of jealousy today as I was helping someone else and she told me not to help them. I said well you are not talking to me and so I was helping this other person. Mema closed her eyes. I called her out and said you are closing your eyes so you can pretend I'm not here. She opened her eyes and started a conversation with me. I smiled on the inside at her reaction.
I did spend the beginning of the week handling nursing home business. I was so frustrated with the business office and a few other issues that I put my professional hat on and went the administrator of the facility. I was very professional, but firm in presenting my issues and suggestions. He seemed to be listening and took lots of notes. Don't worry I vocalized the positives as well. I felt like I presented a well balanced synopsis of my concerns. We'll see what happens, but I felt better when the meeting was done.
I head back to Virginia this coming week. I already have several appointments on the calendar for the month. Between get togethers, workouts and work, I should be kept pretty busy. I definitely need to focus this week on my taxes (still have items to pull together). Took care of my parents taxes, now to focus on mine. As I have mentioned previously, I feel retired when I'm in Virginia so I try to fill my calendar with fun stuff (including workouts). It's all about balance and I do try to stay on track a bit more when I'm in Virginia.
I can honestly admit that I have been so lazy this month and hardly worked out at all. I went to the gym the first week I was here and then nothing. I just wanted to stay in bed every morning. I have not felt like that in a while. I can't wait to get back on track Wednesday morning. It's one day at a time. How do you get back on track?
I have not read anything this past week. I started a book, but have not had time to get very far. What are you reading? Any recommendations?
Have you noticed the days are getting longer? I certainly have! I am hoping the longer days will help with my energy levels. I love the to watch the sky in the morning getting lighter and lighter. So although I may be lazing in bed that early, I am watching the sky. Spring is on the way!
I am going to leave it here for tonight. I hope you have a good week. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
