Are you caught up in the rush of the holidays yet? It does seem to me we have definitely lost the spirit of the holidays when all that is talked about are sales and shopping. I do not get caught up with rushing to the stores although I know plenty of people who do it for fun more than catching the "bargain." I laugh at the car ads when I think how many people rush out to buy a new car the day after Thanksgiving? Perhaps it's just me. I'm not caught up in cyber Monday either although I'm sure at some point I will go through all the emails sent to me to determine if I need anything. I am so happy that people are focusing on local businesses as well. There are so many talented and creative people that need our support. Have fun with shopping and preparing.
I got in a few really good workouts this past week. Lori is challenging me in the right ways. I workout with another woman and I joked the other day that I must be evolving. In the past, I would have been frustrated by not being able to do as much as another or hurt myself trying to keep up. Now, I look and think - good for her I will get there in time. We cheer each other on. I am keeping the exercise handouts so I can work on them while up north. I want to keep the momentum going. What about you? Workouts can be a great stress reliever before or after shopping...LOL!
I had a wonderful dinner the other evening with friends/coaching colleagues. It was so nice catching up with these ladies. I am not coaching or attending the functions as much as I did in the past so it's always fun to talk about coaching. I am trying to reach out to the coaching group up north, but so far no response. I'll keep at it though to see if I can network with a few people. Do you network with colleagues in your field? Do you find it helps your business or perspective?
I found time to read three books this past week. 1. "ADVENTURES FOR THE SOUL" by Shannon Kaiser. 21 ways to transform your habits and reach your full potential. I found it very insightful and easy to relate to. She provides steps and guidance to take when you are ready. 2. "The Shift" by Theresa Brown, RN. Describes a twelve hour shift for one nurse involving four patients' lives. Interesting to learn about a nurses perspective in the health care system. 3. "The Grateful Life" by Nina Lesowitz and Mary Beth Sammons. I found myself shedding a few tears with this book which is a guide to discovering your dreams through the power of positivity. What are you reading?
It's almost December which means I'm heading north. Looking forward to seeing my family and getting reading for Christmas. Hoping to see a couple of friends while there, but with schedules you never know. At least we all try.
I am going to leave it here today. I feel like I need a blanket and a nap..LOL! I hope you have a great week. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
