Hi Everyone. Hope this finds you well on this last Sunday in September. I am looking out my window today at lots of clouds although the sun is trying to break through and has been out a few times. The fall is here and I must admit I have loved the early mornings this past week. I have been able to see the sun rise most days and the air was so clear and the colors of sky so vibrant - makes me grateful every day.
This is my second attempt today at this blog. I wrote what I thought was a good one earlier, but the computer froze and then I lost it...perhaps it was not as good as I thought...LOL!
I had a good week. I got lots of exercise/workouts in this past week. I was able to accomplish a goal for myself in that I received my "150" shirt from Jazzercise. This means that I attended 150 classes in 2015 so far. It might not seem much of an accomplishment to many of you, but I have been attending Jazzercise for almost 18 years and this is my first shirt. I decided at the beginning of the year to see if I could do it, especially only attending every other month and I did it!!!! WOOHOO!!! I also met with a personal trainer twice and she is really good. I am glad I decided to contact her and get started on strengthening my core. I will admit I have been a bit stiff this week and wondered why I did not have a hot tub tub or ice tub to soak in. I feel good today though so I must be getting used to using some of those muscles that have been just hanging out. I find as I get older that I completely understand the need to keep exercising for my physical and mental health. I wish I had learned that lesson when I was younger. What about you? Have you found an exercise or program that works for you? Is there a goal you are trying to reach and need some motivation?
I have decided to try a few things that I have wanted to do whether or not I know anyone participating. This past week I attended a paint and sip evening where I got to meet about a dozen people. None of my friends wanted to attend, but the painting we were doing was a lighthouse and you know how I feel about lighthouses. The artist was patient and fun as he led us step-by-step through the process. It was a very nice way to spend a couple of hours. I decided that if I can eat in restaurants or go to the movies by myself then I can attend other things as well. Not sure what will come up next...I'll let you know. Do you do things by yourself? Is there something holding you back? Any ideas?
I was busy reading my backlog of murder and mayhem this past week so nothing inspirational to mention. I do have a few inspirational ones that I received this past week so hopefully I'll be writing about them over the next few weeks. What are you reading?
I am a Catholic. I am not the church going type, but have my faith and believe I can pray and talk with God anywhere. I express my gratitude for my blessings through standard prayers or those of my own making. I am sure many people would be surprised to know that I have a set of rosary beads that I carry with me almost everywhere. I say this as the Pope was in Washington, DC this past week. No, I did not try to see him, but I did watch some of the coverage on TV. I believe Pope Francis has opened the doors to many people with his open mindedness and beliefs. He is an amazing and humble man. I am not saying I will go to church any more and any less than I do now, but he had provided me food for thought. His actions brought tears to my eyes as he hugged and/or kissed the children. I hope his words resonate with the hierarchy of the church and filters down to the parishes.
I will not write about politics unless it's too say - I'M SO OVER THE ELECTIONS and it's still over a year away!
As usual I have a lot of things to do and people to see before I head north. It always seems to come down to the last week and then I run around like a chicken with it's head cut off. I do the same thing when I'm up north and getting ready to head back to Virginia. I have a few lunches/dinners planned this week - guess I better work out harder on those days...LOL!
I am going to leave it here for today. Heading out to the movies in a little while. I think it's been about a year since I've been to the movies. I hope you have a wonderful week. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
