I had a good week. I did complete a couple of walks around the neighborhood, although not as far as I wanted I was glad to get the steps done. It's always interesting to see who's out and about and what's going on in the development. Sometimes I see the same people and we nod. There is a house being renovated so lots of activity with dumpsters and such. My neighbor next door smokes his cigar in his driveway about the time I'm out. He has a nice set up and seems content. I'm presuming his wife won't let him smoke in the house or back deck. Makes me laugh each time I see him.
I had blood work done on Wednesday and then my treatment on Friday. The lab where I have my blood done is excellent, I'm usually in/out in about 15 minutes. For the first time in treatment process, I felt like a pin cushion when done. My veins were not cooperating. It took three nurses and an ultrasound machine to get the infusion set up. My veins are very prominent and the only time I remember in my life having trouble was years ago before a medical procedure. The nurses were surprised at how calm and collected I was through the process. I told them if it was my mother, she would have passed out after the first attempt. Once the infusion was set up, they all apologized as I had to have my arm turned at an awkward angle for the time I was there, but all was right in my corner of the world. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that this is not an omen of things to come. I read my book and chit chatted as nurses checked on me. On a good note, the medication I am on for hypothyroidism has really helped as I'm not nearly as tired as I was a few weeks ago.
I was asked to work this week and I actually said no (I know you are shocked). I had a couple of things to do and did not want to deal with working. My client does not know I turned it down. She messages me every day and is very dependent on a response. I'm not a chatty Cathy on text (I was not on the phone either) and that does not make her happy. So I try drop a line or two every day.
I honestly could care less about the NCAA tournament. Perhaps it's because I did not go to a high school or college that pushed sports. What I do love is the underdog winning and breaking brackets all over the place.
This past week I finished reading: "THE LIGHT WE LOST" by Jill Santopolo - a well-written love story which brought tears to my eyes at the end. A quick read.
