Overall, I had a good week. Very social! Started with a good report from the oncologist. Things are looking good and treatments are going well. I'm reacting well to treatment and will continue on the same regiment. As expected my thyroid and hormones will fluctuate and my Primary will adjust meds as needed. Of course scans and follow ups every three months. Appointments already made.
I had an awesome dinner with friends at a newer local restaurant. The food and service was awesome. Of course, the best part is catching up with these ladies.
Turning 65 was not bad at all...LOL! So grateful for the many messages/calls and time spent time with friends. Traveled to Rehoboth and was able to spend time with friends we have not seen in several years as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. I have to say we ate some fantastic food and had some very good adult beverages. Learned a new card game while with them.
Did you ever have one of those weeks where you focus on the good so you don't have to dwell on the not so good. If you own a house you know things happen well it was one of those weeks. The water pressure valve, water heater and washing machine all decided to act up. That being said, our plumber works evenings so came right away and got things in order. So a new water pressure valve and water heater installed within 24 hours. The washing machine repair people came within 20 minutes of my call which totally caught me off guard. But the washing machine is kaput so I went right out and ordered a new one. At least we were headed out of town so no problems with waiting until this coming week for delivery. The best part of all this ....we kept the economy going.
So on the way back from the beach today, making great time, when our friends van started acting up. She was afraid to drive it all the way home. So we got as far as Annapolis, Maryland where she knew there was a mechanic and dropped the car for review tomorrow. We reached out to her son, who drove over an hour to pick us up. Then it took two hours to drive back home. Thank goodness for the Waze app to get us through traffic. Hopefully, it will all work out with the van.
