I am a little bit late in pulling this together this morning as I slept in. To be honest I had a sleepy week...which means my thyroid acted up and my hormones are played tricks. At first I thought my tiredness was from the rainy, chilly weather, but then my brain kicked in. I am a person who slept about about five hours a night for at least 40 years. Since I retired I may have added a little bit of time to that. Well, suddenly I'm sleeping 6 to 7 hours a night and I'm still tired. My twenty minute power nap has lengthened to an hour and sometimes I take a second one. Believe me when I say I'm listening to my body. I'm also chilly much of time, I do laugh at myself wearing a sweatshirt and fleece in May. It was my week for blood work so at least I knew I was not crazy when the numbers were off. So my med was changed again. I had my 7th treatment on Friday and asked the nurse if my meds will be changed about every three weeks and she said more than likely. My treatment remains the same, but they are definitely keeping a close watch on the numbers and I have to tell them any change I notice.
Your fun image of the week...I have a heated, pink, fuzzy mousepad holder for my laptop (received as a fun gift a few years ago). Believe me when I say, it's being used many days lately. I can still play games wearing it.
I am going to publicly thank my friend Diane here. How do you thank someone who does so much for so many and I have luckily been the recipient of her love/friendship. I have known Diane over 25 years when she was co-owner of the first Jazzercise studio I joined. She is a joyful person and welcomed me in so many ways with her encouragement (I probably would have quit if it was just the other owner). For some reason, we bonded back then and she has been an integral part of my life since. I watched her girls grow up to be wonderful women and mothers. Diane and her husband believe in family first and treat all people as family. Of course life events over the years caused us not to see each other as often, but we always stayed in touch. She has supplied several delicious meals over the past few months even though she's very busy caring for her own parents. We had a get together Friday morning, we chatted and got caught up in person which was wonderful. She has such a kind way of looking at life. Well, Friday afternoon after I got home from treatment, I heard a noise at the front door. I thought it was a delivery (you know I order quite a bit). I opened the door and there was a bag/gift and saw Diane's car by the driveway. She did not realize I was home so I surprised her when I opened the door. She hand-made and delivered me a quilt that will fit my bed. The design is called "Friendship Star" and because she knows I've been dealing with the cold has a flannel back. It's stunning and I have to say is cozy warm. I cried and shed a few more tears over the card she wrote. I have already taken a few naps wrapped in it's warmth. (I will try to post a picture later.) Thank you from my heart Diane.
I do have a funny for you. My name is simply Marie. My mother would correct any one who tried to give me a nickname. Over the years, I have been called many things...LOL! I answer to almost all of them: Maria, Mary, Murry, Anna Marie and Anna Maria to name a few. Many years ago, I worked with a man named Denny who called me May-Ree and would spell it that way and we would laugh together. He never did it maliciously, usually if there was tension in the office and we would laugh. When I go to appointments and hear the butchering of my name, I always think of Denny and think perhaps I should be checking in with May-Ree...LOL!

This past week I finished reading: "THE LOST GIRLS OF DEVON" by Barbara O'Neal - a village of secrets and three strong generations of women. Did not get much else done as I was napping.
I want to wish the happiest of birthdays to my dear friend Margaret - hope you have a good day today and on the mend.
I'm leaving it here for today. Time to make the coffee and snuggle under the quilt. I hope you have a good week. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
