Well, the good news of the week is a mixed bag. I had told my boss after the fiasco of last week that I did not know if I would work again so she left me alone. My client reaches out daily and if I don't respond in a timely manner she goes down the rabbit hole. I did receive a call on Monday from the oncology staff requesting I have additional blood work. The nurse really paid attention when I talked about being tired. My treatment is impacting my body exactly as expected as I developed Hypothyroidism (at least there is now a reason I'm tired). So for someone who prided herself on not being on any medications at the age of 64...guess I was taken down a peg or two before I turn 65. I now have to take two medications daily and my treatment. I know that's not a lot per se, but it certainly brings me down a bit. Now, at least, I have a reason for my longer afternoon naps and going to bed earlier than I ever have. I have not told my client of the new diagnosis as I don't want to send her off the deep end and she has enough to worry about.
My sleep schedule is so far off - my watch indicates: sleep - poor. I go to bed with my bones clacking from being cold (even though I'm sitting with a heated blanket). I wake up soaking wet from night sweats (hotter than I ever was when I went through menopause). I can sometimes go back to sleep for a bit, but I think this is why I so appreciate a nap.
I was able to get out and walk a couple of days this past week. I was almost attacked by an ankle biter who was not on a leash. I know I jumped as I certainly did not expect it, but think I scared the dog at the same time. The owner was across the street working on his car and yelled at least 6 time before the dog left me alone and the man yelled an apology. I just walked away disgusted as the dog crossed a busy road twice without any fear.
This past week I finished reading: "BLOW BACK" by James Patterson and Brendan DuBois - about what happens when an American President goes berserk - very good. I watched: "KNIVES OUT" (2019) -The circumstances surrounding the death of crime novelist Harlan Thrombey are mysterious. This movie was a little longer than expected, but very good. It was a throwback to Agatha Christie with the twists and turns.
I'm a person who does not give a hoot about award shows of any kind so I won't be watching the Oscars tonight. The coverage will be everywhere tomorrow so it's not like I'll miss anything.
