We've had some awesome weather this past week with warm days and cool nights. The doors and windows have been open and pollen has been blowing through the house. Yes, I see yellow where i need to dust a bit...LOL! Now I understand the reason for doilies. Lady and I took a few walks - although she is getting a bit more reticent about walking. If I can get her on two decent walks per day I'm happy. Believe me when I say, I know when she's had enough. She is definitely in need of grooming which will happen this week. Lady will have company this week as my sister and Buddy will be at the house. Buddy, although a different breed, looks much like Lady. I've written up Lady's schedules and food choices, so hopefully it will be a good week for her.
My youngest nephew Brian graduated high school this past week. Although I did not get to attend (it was moved indoors and only 2 tickets per student), we met for dinner after. He has so many adventures awaiting him -one that starts tonight. As I wrote to my sister the other day, she should be proud as she and her husband raised three children to adulthood relatively error free so to speak.
Now the reason for my 0400 call this morning. My nephew, niece and I are going on a trip tonight. The phone call was from the car service asking if we were at the airport ready to go to the hotel. My heart was pounding after being woken from a dead sleep and I was a bit foggy. I know I said...WHAT? He said it again and I said, the service is for tomorrow. Of course, then I'm thinking did I screw up the dates? What the heck is going on? He placed me on hold and then came back on the line saying there was confusion on their end. PHEW! Of course, then I'm up.
I am a bit nervous about this trip. Only because in my many years of travel 99% of the time it was arranged by someone else. Either work took care of everything or my BFF Patti (best trip coordinator ever). This time it's all on me. I do miss the way I was able to travel for work - it almost always was seamless and the seats on flights were always good. Now I get to fly the cheap seats with two tall people...LOL! The exciting part is that this is truly their first international flight so I get to experience it with them. It will be fun to see how time change impacts them as they both love their sleep. As I told them, one of my dreams was that they would want to travel with me so keeping my fingers crossed for an excellent adventure!
I finished reading: "A WOMAN IS NO MAN" by Etaf Rum. It's about three generations of Palestinian American women dealing with families, culture, values, etc. Excellent read. Although I normally wait until I finish a book today is an exception as I am almost finished (hopefully today) with: "THE UNWINDING OF THE MIRACLE" by Julie Yip Williams. It's a memoir about life, death, and family. Another excellent read - both of these books brought forth many emotions. Jenna Bush Hager has a book club on the Today Show so I've gotten a few recommendations. I also check out other clubs as well. Even with recommendations, a book something has to click when I read the description. What are you reading?

First cup of coffee almost done and cold....need a few more. I hope you have a good week. Not sure if there will be a blog next week or just delayed. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
