Yesterday temp was in the 70s so I worked in the yard in short sleeves and worked up a sweat. Thank goodness we pay someone to mow because I basically neglected the rest of the backyard for the summer. I was able to use my new reciprocal saw and attack some of the overgrown bushes. Nothing like taking stuff down to the stumps, now to decide what happens next.
Thank you to all who exercised their voting rights! I don't care how you voted just that you voted. It's been a stressful week for many and now that it's been resolved we can move on. I know not everyone is happy with the results, (never happens) yet I'm hopeful we can move forward.
My work week went well...kept the TV off and listened to music. My client was not always cooperative, but overall we had good times. I worked a few extra hours with my client in order for his wife to get a few things done. My boss said she was glad I was helping out the spouse. To me, my work is not just about the client, but about the family as well. My client, his spouse and I went out of lunch on Friday and it was great as we sat outside and enjoyed the sun and good food. I was glad I got to observe him in a different setting.
Have you ever thought about your idiosyncrasies? You know those little things you do every time and don't know why? I have a few and I wonder where they come from? What made me start doing it in the first place? Sometimes I rationalize why I do it, but honestly not sure where they came from. Some simple examples: 1. Each time I put dishes back in the cabinets, I put them underneath the dishes already there (for some reason I think it will help wear them out evenly). 2. I like my bath towel and hand towel to match (not the end of the world if they don't, but it's so annoying). 3. I have my clock radio alarm set for the same time every day (I never turn it off) and I'm always awake before it ( like to wake up to music). If I have to get up earlier, I set my phone alarm and don't change the clock radio. I know I have others, but these popped into my head this morning. I laugh about most of them, but continue to do them. What about you?
This past week I finished reading: "DEATH IN A MOOD INDIGO" and "DEATH ON NANTUCKET" both by Francine Matthews. Two books of the Merry Folger Nantucket Mystery series. Of course, I watched a Hallmark movie or two. I also caught up with the NXIVM documentary - no words to describe what some of the women went through and the manipulation of others.
