The Olympics finish tonight. As I mentioned previously, I have never watched so much of the coverage. It's not the sports themselves that draw me in, mainly it's the stories of the athletes.
I had one of those crazy weeks. I worked and did not do much other than that. As I've said before, it's not manual labor, but tiring all the same. As I wrote on FB this past week, I thought I earned angel points as I escorted one of my clients and her neighbor to a funeral, then my week ended with a flat tire,. I took a deep breath and went with the flow. I sat outside work on a nice bench in the shade and was able to help a person or two while I was there. The service tech who changed my flat was extremely nice and polite. I took my car to my favorite mechanic and I had a problem with two tires...ugh. I think I was meant to take my car to my favorite mechanic today as he found a leak in my rear shocks so now I get to go to the dealer since I'm still under warranty. Don't think I would have noticed the leak.
I had a dentist appointment this past week. It was for a cleaning/check up. As I needed the appointment on a certain day of the week, the dentist himself do all the work instead of a hygienist. As he looked at my records, I have a crown or two needing replacement, he he had my records back to 1991 when he went into his own practice. I had also seen him in his prior office. Once I find someone I like I stick with them (I'm nothing if not loyal). I keep telling him he can't even think of retirement.
The good news of the week, we sold our Myrtle Beach condo within 24 hours of it going on the market. Talk about surprised. It went on the market the other evening and within an hour we were notified (have to love technology) of four showings the next morning. We received a full price cash offer with no contingencies that evening and some positive feedback from the others. Of course, the real estate agent would have liked a little bit of price wars, but we were not going to deal with that. We accepted and as soon as title clears we will close. One less thing to worry about in the future.
I finished reading: "THE HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH" by Eddie Jaku and "THE COAST TO COAST MURDERS" By James Patterson and J. D. Barker - books at two opposite ends of the spectrum. I also watched: "Official Secrets" (2019); "The Truth" (2019) and "The One and Only Dick Gregory" (2021).
