I have definitely enjoyed our new working electric fireplace. I have it on almost all day and sometimes just sit and watch the glow of the flames. What a difference the floor has made as well. I still hesitate thinking there is a step, but am so glad there is not.
The best news of the week....My Petscan results show absolutely no sign of cancer in my body. I almost cried when the drs office called to provide results. I will continue with follow ups every few months and I'm sure I'll hold my breath each time. I do have a small hiatal hernia, but who cares...LOL! I also finished my PT sessions. They have done as much for me as they can. She provided some good helpful follow up guidance. She also placed my hands in moist heat for a bit and then massaged each one. I wanted to bring her home with me. We are all hoping the joints get a bit better the farther away from treatment I get.
I was social this past week as I was out and about two days in a row visiting people. I helped a friend whose husband has some health issues by being a companion for the husband. The only hard part is watching someone's health deteriorate. I also visited my old client. She gets a bit upset when I don't visit as often as she'd like, but I was able to surprise her with her favorite cookies and flowers. I stayed longer than I anticipated, but it was worth it to see her so happy. I don't set up regular visits with her because she wants to plan lunch or a gathering and she is not up to that right now. So for now my surprise visits work. I do have to visit soon as I gave her a digital picture frame for Xmas and I need to set it up for her (hopefully clean out some of the pics on her phone).
I still get worn out and will nap or go to bed very early. I try to be open minded about naps knowing they do help. When the weather is not great, it's wonderful to lay on the couch with a blanket and the fireplace going...which means nap time for me. When I'm not tired I try to cook up a few meals at a time. This past week it was shredded chicken BBQ for sandwiches and shredded chicken taco bake/lasagna. They were both delicious (even if I say so myself). Don't ask about recipes because I start with an idea and then open the cabinets to see what I can do...LOL! Today will be beef cubes with gravy and noodles or perhaps a version of beef stroganoff...not sure yet.
This past week I finished reading: "THE DOG I LOVED" by Susan Wilson - two women and two dogs and how the dogs impact their lives. "THE NOEL LETTERS" by Richard Paul Evans - a women returns to her home after her father passes and starts receiving letters of guidance. "KEY WEST CONNECTION" - by Randy Wayne White - murder and revenge. All good easy reading books. I finished watching all Xmas movies that I had on the DVR and also watched: "THE WHALE" (2022) - so incredibly sad.
