My work week went well. Worked my regular hours and my client was busy getting things accomplished. I even vacuumed a bit as she had not had regular aids on the weekends and with a shedding dog her carpet looked furry. Her vacuum is light enough for me to use with one arm.
The good news of the week is I got my cast off on Friday. Thank goodness I graduated to a short brace for two weeks. I must say I scrubbed and scrubbed my arm as it was itchy, flaking (left skin everywhere), and oh so stinky. I am still shedding and applying lots of moisturizer. My arm/wrist is very weak, but it's great to be able to use the keyboard with more than two fingers. I am stretching and using a stress ball to work the muscles. Now if I could just stop scratching. I was told after two weeks of the brace I should be good to go. I'm withholding judgment until then.
Forgot to mention last week that I had an awesome dinner with friends at a new restaurant at least for us. It was a little bit of a commute, but I think I'm getting spoiled by all the good restaurants in my area. The food and service were impeccable. Of course, the best part was catching up with these ladies.
After more than twenty years of living in our house, we finally called in a landscaper to come up with some ideas. There is no rhyme or reason except everything is overgrown. We also need a new stoop and walkway. I walked all around with the landscaper and I swear I ate a half dozen gnats it was so humid and buggy out. I want low maintenance and simple. I showed the landscaper the two bushes I want to save and we discussed options for optimal ease. I can't wait to see the plans/costs and determine if it will all done at once or in stages. I know my budget so we'll see what happens.
This past week I finished reading: "NEW TRICKS" and "DOG TAGS" by David Rosenfelt - both part of the Andy Carpenter series - an easy/fun read. "EVERY LIFE A STORY" by Natalie Jacobson - She spent 45 years as a journalist/anchor in Boston. No back biting/gossip, just well-written. I watched: "MOON MANOR" (2021) - interesting/confusing movie about assisted suicide. "PHILOMENA" (2013) - based on a true story of how the catholic church in Ireland sold babies for adoption without permission and then denied it. "BLACKLIGHT" (2022) - action/suspense/intrigue. The TV miniseries - "THE OLD MAN" - intrigue and suspense (my only issue is all characters mumbled or were soft spoken throughout the entire series).
