I had a good week at work. I only worked my regular shifts with no extra days. The dog and I had good walks every day. I was able to have a walk or two without my earmuffs and heavy mittens. The development was spreading mulch so we had to be careful where we walked. This dog, like so many others, loves a good mulch pile which I had to be sure she stayed out of.
After years and years of living with a pedestal sink in my bathroom, I finally replaced it with a vanity sink/cabinet and new faucet. We had the plumber here to fix something else and I thought why not I've been talking about changing it for years. Nothing fancy, just basic items from Home Depot, but looks great and the plumber did a great job.
We did a little Harriet Homemaker work yesterday. Got out the 10 foot ladder and fixed a bent piece of siding (for some reason one piece has popped so many times over the years). Hopefully, our DIY fix will hold for a bit. Also, put the ceiling mount back in place on our entry hall light fixture (high ceiling). It was nice outside so cleaned up part of the yard and trimmed a bush or two - more needs to be done, but a little at a time works for me.
I enjoyed a wonderful dinner one evening with some great ladies. Great catching up and relaxing over dinner. The restaurant will be closing in a couple of months after many years at this location. I could see the ice rink and many kids learning to skate (too cute). This restaurant used to be packed no matter what night because its in a business area. I'm sure the pandemic has not helped, but also the whole area is changing and the lease was up so time to move.
Change change change. Everywhere I look construction is happening in this area. Acres and acres of trees and old farms have been cleared and mcmansions, condos, shopping centers and/or data centers are going up. I know...progress, progress, progress, but it makes me feel old.
