My week was a bit crazy as I had a vertigo episode Monday that knocked me on my butt so to speak. I have not had one so uncontrollable in a very long time. Thank goodness I was off that day and only had to cancel a dentist appointment. I ended up at the doctors office late afternoon (luckily my BFF could drive me) and received a prescription. Believe it or not, I took Tuesday off from work and did not go to my normal chiropractor appointment. I hardly ever take a sick day off so you know I must have been off balance. I was able to work on Wednesday/Thursday, but took it slow (Dr recommended walking like an old person) and did not make any sudden moves. Every day, I feel a bit better and today's acupuncture helped so much. Naturally, I had to do some research about vertigo and there are some interesting causes including internal virus, barometric pressure, concussions, etc. There are also some interesting treatments.
I saw a different doctor as mine was swamped. She was so nice and asked lots of questions. She checked to be sure I had not had a stroke. When the nurse checked my vitals, she said how about a flu shot? I said it's only August. She laughed and said it's almost September so I got it. The Dr followed up with emails every other day and answered my questions. I have a follow-up this coming week and things seem to be on track. Hopefully, won't have another episode for a long time.
I had an awesome lunch with former colleagues whom I had not seen since before the pandemic. It was wonderful to sit and catch-up. The restaurant area was practically empty so it was peaceful. So much happened over the past year and a half. Now, to get back on track with our gatherings.
Lots of memories and emotions this past week as it was the anniversary of my dad's death. It's hard to believe it's been four years. It's wonderful that FB brings up the pictures and memories so I can reflect. Perhaps that's why I had the urge to finally hang family pictures in my room after several years without any.
My work week went well considering I only worked two days. My clients kept me busy, but as I said above, I moved slow and steady. Both clients doing well.
This past week I finished reading: "WHEN FAMILY CALLS" by Caroline H. Sheppard, MSW. It was about the challenges and rewards of caregiving. Some of it hit close to home. Very useful information and emotional. I watched: Superstar - Richard Pryor.
