Hi Everyone! Hope this finds you well and you had a good week. Did you remember to turn your clocks back last night or are you running around this morning? I always change the clock by my bed before I go to sleep, so I have no worries in the morning.
I’m writing this Blog this morning in Word as I can’t access my Blog account on-line. One company merged with another and now chaos ensues…LOL! Well, writing it in Word may help eliminate typos and grammatical errors.
The great news of the week is I had a follow-up with my oncologist, and all is good. I will finish treatment right before Xmas and then have a Petscan. We all expect everything to be good and I can go live my life so to speak. The oncologist was very encouraged by the way I handled the treatment and believes although it will take time, the RA symptoms will ease or completely go away. I will continue to have follow-ups with all doctors and scans for about three years. I teared up with relief and gratefulness at the appointment. As I indicated to the doctor, all year I have waited for the other shoe to drop and although it will always lurk in the back of my mind, I feel like I can move forward.
In the meantime, we are moving forward with getting work done on our house. Finally, found a contractor and have met several times for scope of work, measurements and cost structure. We have picked out a new electric fireplace (it to be delivered tomorrow). We are waiting on the floor materials as the floor is no longer made and they are trying to find as close a match as possible so when the floor is raised all will look right. We are hoping for the work to be done in December and may take up to two weeks. We agreed to put Xmas decorating on the back burner while we pack up other items, so nothing is broken.
This past week I finished reading: “THE NESTING DOLLS” by Alina Adams – Spanning nearly a century, from 1930s Siberia to contemporary Brighton Beach, a page turning, epic family saga centering on three generations of women in one Russian Jewish family. “MY WORDS MY THOUGHTS MY HEART SONGS” by Terry Kelly Jones – a book of prose written from the heart. “IT WAS AN UGLY COUCH ANYWAY: AND OTHER THOUGHTS ABOUT MOVING FORWARD” by Elizabeth Passarella - A collection of refreshingly funny essays about navigating change--whether emotional or logistical. I also watched NFL ICONS: Bill Cower, Joe Namath, and Marcus Allen (I did not realize this was a series so I’ve gone back to watch some of the older ones). Of course, I’m watching Christmas movies…LOL!
