It was a quiet week for me. I walked quite a bit and adjusted the timing of my walks so I'm not out in the heat of the day. Yes, we finally had a 90 degree day here. This is the first year, we have not turned on our central AC yet. We had a "split pack" installed last year in the upstairs room and so far it has kept the whole house cool. Of course, this is also the first year, I wear a bathrobe over my clothes most of the day. In the back of my mind, most days I hear my mother chuckle and the song "If They Could See Me Now." My naps were a bit longer than I like, but I'm listening to my body and when I need a nap, I need a nap.
My BFF and I had a good laugh the other day at an interpretation of a text message she received. She read it to me and I said, this is what was meant, I would answer this way. She insisted it was different and we went back and forth a little about the words I was hearing and she was reading - don't worry we were laughing. I said, answer how you want. Well, she answered and when she got a response she looked at me and said how did you know? I said, you did not use the response I suggested and she said no...LOL! We talked context and about the old "telephone" game from school (if you know you know) and how stories get passed along. We laughed and laughed as she read the original text message several times before she realized why we interpreted differently. How about you? Ever have one of those conversations that seem to go in circles and then you just give up? We do that quite a bit, but we always laugh about it in the end.
I mentioned last week that I was going to cook some chicken, but not sure how. Well, I ended up poaching it with seasonings and such. I then chopped it up and used it a few different ways during the week. I did make a chicken pesto pizza that turned out delicious. So most of the week was spent eating mexican pasta and chicken a few different ways. I have a few ideas for this week, but we'll see what magic I can weave later.
I forgot to mention that it seems a side effect of all that has happened in the past year had led me to start snoring/snorting...LOL! When I went away recently I shared a room with my BFF and after all these years, she said, you now snore! Thank goodness she brought noise cancellation headphones. I was appalled and realized lately it seems I wake myself up from my naps with a snort or snore (not sure which)...LOL!
This past week I finished reading: "THE FLATSHARE" by Beth O'Leary - quirky/romance set in England. "A SIDE OF MURDER" by Amy Pershing - first in a series called Cape Cod Foodie mystery - light and fun. "THE 23rd MIDNIGHT" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro - latest in the Women's Murder Club series - always edgy.
