My prayers are with the people in Miami. Although there is nothing that can bring back those lost, I hope there is closure for families.
I had one of those crazy weeks, work was busy and luckily my client's son had put the A/C on in the house. On Tuesday, it took over 20 minutes in 90 degree heat to get into her house as the garage key pad was not working, So you know I was ecstatic to get in the house and find the A/C on. My client has no idea where extra keys are or if her family has keys and/or the garage remotes as they can not be found either. I searched the kitchen "junk" drawer and found a front door key hidden in the back. I took took the key with me so I could get in on Thursday. I had to leave the key under the mat in case her family comes by over the weekend. I told her if the key is not under the mat on Tuesday, I will be banging at her bedroom window until she wakes up. The repair person coming Tuesday so I can be there.
On Friday, I had one of the those klutzy off-balance (perhaps karma) days. Have you had one of those days? Started in the morning and did not end until I went to bed. Here are a few highlights to make you chuckle. I went to the grocery store when it opened to avoid people...LOL! I put a nice large package of sweet small tomatoes on the belt and they ended up spilling everywhere. The cashier was very nice and had another one brought up. I also bought a bouquet of flowers. As I got the vase down from the cabinet, another vase fell out and almost crashed, but luckily I caught it (at least it did not hit me on the head). For lunch I put together a wonderful salad with lots of good stuff including chicken tenders. Can you imagine what happened? I brought it to the living room, sat down and promptly dropped the entire big bowl upside down onto the floor/carpet (yes it had dressing mixed in). I did sit for a minute and thought WTF before I took a breath. I cleaned everything up ...definitely not pretty. I then put together tomatoes/cucumbers and a couple more chicken tenders. I dropped one of the chicken tenders as I took it out of the toaster oven...guess where it went...way under the stove. I pulled the drawer completely out and realized I might as well clean under there as well. I truly thought I should just wrap myself in a blanket and go to bed. There were a few more things, but hopefully you got a chuckle. Saturday morning started down the klutzy path again, but I think acupuncture helped to redirect some energy.
I don't think I mentioned previously that during the month of May, the post office returned some of my mail with the notation "no receptacle available". I did not find out until mid June when a couple people reached out to see if I moved. Luckily, someone sent me a picture. I went to the PO the next day and they had me speak to a supervisor. I inquired as to what/why it happened? Was the normal person on vacation and someone did not realize? The supervisor was so rude and I was being on my best behavior. He told me to talk to the mail carrier. We have a note in our mailbox with the names of the people that live here (for some reason although neither of my parents ever lived here and I did not have mail forwarded from Plymouth they were receiving mail here). I think it's been resolved, but Friday, I noticed a new mail carrier placing a new note in our mailbox...oh well...guess we'll see what happens. Thank goodness I don't receive all the mail that I did in the past. It does seem the junk mail keeps coming through.
I finished reading three books this week: LEGACIES" by Nora Roberts; "TRUE FORGIVENESS" by Rev Jennifer McSween; and "HIS ONLY WIFE" by Peace Adzo Medie. A wide variety of subjects. I watched a couple of movies: "Like A Boss" (2020 and "The Song of Names" (2019) as well as some old movie musicals.
