My heart hurts on so many levels for all that happened this past week. I do not want to say I know how you feel, when I don't. I can not begin to imagine what it feels like to be judged for the color of my skin and to be afraid of the very people that are meant to protect and serve. I had not realized what my friends, colleagues and extended family might deal with on a routine basis. I'm not sure if I was in denial or just naive. Ignorance and intolerance can not be accepted. I hope and pray justice will be served and rebuilding can begin.
I had a good week work wise. My clients were in better moods and I even got one to take a little walk outside in his community. My client willingly put on a mask and only rested a little bit. We might not do that too much once the heat/humidity kick into gear, but it was nice to be outside for a bit.
I finished reading: "CILKA'S JOURNEY" by Heather Morris - a story of survival from a Nazi prison camp. It's written by the same author as "THE TATTOOIST of AUSCHWITZ". I also finished "THE 20TH VICTIM" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro - newest story in the Womens Murder Club series. As I get ready some mornings, I watch 20 minutes of a movie or show so it takes a few days to get through something. This past week I watched "The Art of Dancing In The Rain" although I'm not sure why as I read the book so I knew what it was about. It pretty much followed the book so I cried almost the entire movie...perhaps I just needed a good cry.
