My prayers go out to those in Baltimore this past week impacted by the bridge collapse. It was horrific news to wake up to and of course seeing the coverage is just so sad. Also, in my prayers are two dear friends who had some health serious health scares. They are both slowly mending.
My week went well overall. I had a good telemed visit with the rheumatologist on Friday. He asked how I felt and I was honest about how everything. I told him I feel like I am slowly unkinking and the inflammation in my ankles seems a little less. He asked about percentages of stiffness and pain. He did advise my lab work indicates my inflammation markers are going in the right direction, but it still could take a few months. I am really trying to not walk like a penguin and pay attention to lifting the legs vice shuffling. He changed the dosage of my medication so we are both hoping by the next in-person visit things are even better. As I told him, I don't expect to return to 100% as I'm not 30 any longer, and I'm hoping to at least be able to take a decent walk.
I cooked a little bit this past week so we had a few meals ready. I also prepped for a lunch yesterday so I would not be doing everything at once. It made life a bit easier and not as stressful as trying to get everything done the morning of the event. Imagine that...perhaps this old dog can learn a few things...LOL! I ventured to the grocery store early the other morning to pick up a cake I ordered. Since I have not been in the store since pre-pandemic, I naturally went into the wrong door and had to walk across. It provided me a bit of a walk as I then walked a bit more getting to the car. When I got home I took a little coffee break and then put the new tags on my car (yeah they arrived on time).
We had a wonderful birthday lunch celebration yesterday for my BFF. She asked for a lunch at home with a few friends. We had a great time and spent the afternoon laughing and telling stories. Everything turned out great and we'll have leftovers for a few days.
Thank you so much for the kind words about my angel table last week (pictures were only on FB). As I write this today, I am sitting with only the light from the table and I feel comforted. I have at least one angel in most rooms of the house.
This past week I read: "THE THREE LIVES OF ALIX ST. PIERRE" by Natasha Lester. It combines espionage, fashion, and love in the aftermath of WWII. "HAPPINESS FALLS" by Angie Kim. GMA Book Club selection. It's about family, mystery, and culture. Story was very interesting, but I found it a bit difficult to read as it was somewhat analytical.
The daily and wacky holidays for the week...provides something lighthearted to think about (there are always more things about each day that are not listed here, but it's so interesting to google "whats important about ...) :
