My week was a little busier than I expected, which is probably a good thing. I was social as I attended a regular dinner with former colleagues - always filled with laughter. I also had lunch with my BFF and a long-time former roommate who's still a friend. We traveled to Maryland so our friend would not have to travel as far and had lunch at a fantastic restaurant. We lucked out as the heavy traffic was on the opposite side of the highway as we traveled both directions.
I also drove around in circles or so it felt the other day. The advantage is that it was a beautiful day for a drive. In VA we can have our auto emissions checked by driving past rapid boxes which track electronically. They are located on different roads and I did check the website previously to see if I had happened to drive by one in the past year. Apparently, I did not drive by any of them in the past year. Well, I looked up locations and there was one fairly close to the house supposedly on an exit ramp from a major road. I drove every part of that clover leaf and never found a box. Well, what I didn't realize until I looked at the website again is there are dates alongside location...duh! So now I will try again this week. Keep your fingers crossed.
Do you have vivid dreams and remember them? I do not remember 99% of them although there are some mornings I wake up and think boy I must have been busy in my sleep. My BFF dreams quite a bit and remembers parts of them. There are some mornings when she comes out of her room and we laugh quite a bit as she relays in detail her dreams. There will be people we have not seen in many many years and circumstances that I believe come from whatever TV show she watched or book she read. Sometimes we try to decipher them, but mainly the laughter is a great way to start the morning.
I'm not sure how many of you have security cameras and such. You can set up a neighborhood alert system on your phone to receive information. I keep making my neighborhood smaller and changing what I want to receive in terms of notification. Some people panic at the sound of a helicopter and/or sirens - we live near an airport and are somewhat on the path to the hospital. Don't get me wrong sometimes its good information about local crime and such, but ...I'll leave it here.
I early voted in the primary here. I will never discuss my political affiliation or how I vote, but I vote in every election (local or national) if I can. It was so easy. I don't care how anyone else vote either as long as they exercise their right to vote. If you don't vote you can't complain.
This past week I read: "CLIFFORD'S WAR - THE BLUEGRASS BATTLEGROUND" and CLIFFORD'S WAR - WITHOUT END" by J. Denison Reed - suspense/crime/easy reads. "SANTA CRUISE" by Fern MIchaels - friendship/romance/cruise - fun read. I also watched the documentary: "JAMES BROWN - SAY IT OUT LOUD" (2024) - very good.
The daily and wacky holidays for the week...provides something lighthearted to think about (there are always more things about each day that are not listed here, but it's so interesting to google "whats important about ...) :
