As I continue to clean out papers and such I am ever thankful for the existence of the shredder. This past week alone I filled three trash bags full. I cleaned out my old business files and still have more (almost done). I switch from one pile of cleanup/sort to another.
Work was a bit crazy this past week. The upstairs neighbor left water running in kitchen when she went out which poured through the ceiling of my client's condo. I'm glad I was there and found it. I was able to keep cool and things started and sorted. The condo maintenance people arrived within 15 minutes of the initial call, got into the upstairs condo and turned the water off. My client was with them and took video (or had the maintenance people take video) of all the water upstairs (at least two inches) - so you can imagine what was headed downward. My client's stress level was through the roof and she was not thinking clearly about how she could get around when all the equipment was brought in. Thankfully a neighbor whom also has a dog took them in as she would not have done well in a hotel. As the neighbor is a former colleague of mine, she had no problem with me coming/going the rest of the week. I got to play and be loved by two dogs. During my shifts, I went back/forth between condos (hotter than the blazes of hell and loud) as I dealt with the cleanup crew and picked up items needed by my client. We have not allowed my client back into the condo yet because of the equipment and the general mess. When she sees the holes in the ceilings and lots of items moved around she will be extremely upset. In some ways I don't blame her, but I also know it will be taken care of slowly, but surely. I also took her dog to the vet for a checkup and her stress level was up as well. Vet recommended a calming powder probiotic (over the counter) to help her intestines and general being. I already have a list of items to get done this coming week. Let me just say for the first time in quite a while I was glad when Friday afternoon rolled around. I even got a 20 minute power nap in when I got home. (I swear I'm the only person I know who can drink coffee and fall asleep...LOL!)
This past week I finished reading: "PLYMOUTH UNDERCOVER" by Pamela Kelley - reminisced about where I lived reading this light detective novel. "WHAT YOU SEE" by Hank Phillippi Ryan (Jane Ryland series).
