I have to admit I was not active or social this past week. I was just a homebody with a few naps thrown in. The only time I went out the front door was to get the mail or move the trashcan. I know some people have to go out every day, but not me. I did not mind staying home one bit. I did some cooking and laundry, but was mostly sedentary. I consider it down time and recharging my batteries. I'll be more active this week.
I wish I could say I accomplished many things by staying home, but I did not. I was able to gather some of my tax papers and print out charity receipts, etc. My tax person sends out a worksheet online to help guide me through (guess I should print that out this week and see what I'm missing). Hopefully, I won't have to owe any taxes this year as I have the past few. I did laugh when I received a 1099 from my former company as I forgot I worked a time or two in January 2023 and earned less than $600.
I have no great thoughts for today and I don't have any notes to reflect on...told you it was a lazy week. I have lots of people running through my mind and heart so even if you don't hear from me personally, know I am thinking about you.
My mother's best friend from childhood passed away the other day and I had all sorts of memories come to mind about stories from Southie (where they grew up). She was mother's maid of honor and my sister's godmother. She was a very gracious person who always had a smile. I also remember when I was a kid going to visit her and her family in Quincy. I loved their house and the atmosphere of family all around. I like to think my mom and her are sharing a laugh or two as they watch over their families.
This past week I finished reading: "THE HEMINGWAY DECEPTION" by TJ O'Connor - international intrigue. "ALEX CROSS MUST DIE" by James Patterson - newest book in series. "HOLMES MARPLE & POE" - by James Patterson and Brian Sitts - private investigators in NYC with some humor. All fairly easy reads this week.
The daily and wacky holidays for the week...provides something lighthearted to think about (there are always more things about each day that are not listed here, but it's so interesting to google "whats important about ...) :

“We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives… not looking for flaws, but for potential.” - — Ellen Goodman
