I am doing well. On Tuesday I was given permission to take a shower (using a shower cap to protect the bolster) and boy have I used a lot of hot water since then. I was also given permission to use a wet cloth and baby shampoo to clean my scalp (as long as bolster does not get wet). My scalp has some very sensitive/painful areas. I've seen pictures and it is not pretty. Since I can't see the area, my BFF has taken on the job of cleaning my scalp. Not sure she signed up for nurse duties all those year ago, but she's doing a damn fine job. I have a follow up with the doctor this coming week. Hoping bolster will be removed as it does make sleeping a bit difficult.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving. I cooked a turkey breast and a few sides. Nothing too strenuous, but all turned out very delicious. Enough for leftover sandwiches. Everything was finished off last night.
The majority of the week was spent decorating for Christmas. I have to say my BFF did the majority of the work. We did downsize a bit as we went through most of the items and donated quite a bit. As we went to setup our pre-lit 7 foot tree (had for several years) it decided to die. Well, I jumped online and ordered two smaller trees (did not tell BFF until after) to replace it. They arrived yesterday (much lighter weighted) and we set them up. As we have a few ornaments left, I am thinking of ordering another one or two to have a forest effect...LOL! You never know what might happen...LOL! We did not put up as much as we have previously, but everything looks nice. We have never taken so long to put up our decorations, but considering every time I turn around I'm napping...well, you get the picture.
I drove yesterday for the first time since before surgery. I have to say I did not expect the seat belt to be so irritating, but it sits right on the neck scar area. I spent the majority of the drive moving it around...thank goodness I drove local and not a lot of traffic at that time.
I am doing a lot of online ordering for gifts this year. My little fingers are pointing and clicking like no one's business..LOL! I'm having many items sent directly so I don't have to worry about wrapping and sending. They may arrive early, but they will be at their destination.
This past week I finished reading (in-between naps): "WHAT SHE FOUND" by Robert Dugoni - part of the Tracy Crosswhite detective series. "NEW TRICKS" and "THE TWELVE DOGS OF CHRISTMAS" by David Rosefelt - part of the Andy Carpenter series. I watched quite a few Holiday movies as well.
