My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine. I have many thoughts, but I will not use this blog for political purposes.
I am a bit tired today as I worked an extra day. Believe it or not I actually rolled over this morning and fell back to sleep. I finally dragged my butt out of bed at 7. I know for some that's not sleeping in, but for me it definitely is. I'm already thinking that there may be a nap this afternoon.
I had a good week at work. I have a basic routine first thing with my client and her dog. No matter the weather the dog must be walked so at least I get some steps in. I can tell how badly the dog needs to go out because some mornings she has breakfast first and some mornings she comes and put her front paw on my leg to let me know...let's go now. This dog is definitely a sniffer and sometimes her nose is practically buried into the ground which means some days we cover more territory than others. We found out yesterday the other caregiver tested positive for Covid after traveling for a family funeral. My client saw her one day since she traveled and made her wear her mask the entire time. My client is now very anxious and will be for a bit.
I've learned quite a few things this past week as my taxes were done and for the first time I owe Uncle Sam quite a bit of money. I would love to blame our new tax preparer (and we did joke about it), but of course it's because we sold our rental condo. So I got to learn about capital gains and depreciation. He was very patient as he answered all of my questions (you know I always have questions) and provided some guidance about my deductions and such. As I told him, I'm grateful that I actually have money put aside so I can pay Uncle Sam this year. Oh well, needless to say I don't think I'll own investment property again.
This past week I finished reading: "LAST MAN DOWN" by FDNY Deputy Chief Richard Picciotto with Daniel Paisner - survival/escape from World Trade Center on 9/11. "CUTTING EDGE" by Ward Larsen - suspenseful and action packed.
