I took the Xmas tree down yesterday. It was up with lights and no decorations for a couple of weeks. Have you put everything away from the holidays yet? Not sure what to put in that space yet as we moved a few things around. I can't remember if I have anything in storage up north that would fit the space, but not worried at this point.
I did not watch the Inauguration ceremony as I worked, but caught the highlights and of course the fireworks. I was in awe of Amanda Gorman and her original poem. She is so young and wise. I've watched a couple of interviews and she is so confident (I wish I had half her confidence and abilities at her age or even now). I can't wait to see other accomplishments from her in the future.
I worked every day last week as I started back with a private client. I must admit, it's been a while since I worked every day and I was tired by Friday afternoon. After I ate lunch on Friday, I went into a dead sleep in my recliner...LOL! A nice hour long nap and then I was good to go for the rest of the day. Have to love those naps! Work went well overall. No walks outside, but somewhat cooperative. Appetite and a few other changes are coming forward which is normal. They were able to get the first part of the vaccine on Friday. I am researching a few items my client's spouse asked me to look into.
As an aside, I believe I'm getting more prudish as I get older and perhaps a bit cranky (some might say I already was cranky), but I can't stand these damn commercials about what's in women's pants or anyone else's for that matter. Perhaps it's the verbiage or because I was raised by very prudish parents, but I just don't need or want to know. The commercials do not make me want to try the product any more than it did before. There are a few other things that bug me, but this is a huge sticking point.
I've been cooking more often since the pandemic, probably not as often as I should, but trying a few new items here and there. Have you been experimenting in the kitchen? It's fun to try new recipes and new kitchen gadgets. Today I'm putting a pork loin in the crockpot with a homemade marinade and a corn casserole (new for me). Yesterday, I put together pesto butter as I had leftover pesto to use up...delicious on a baguette.

A former colleague passed away suddenly last week. I worked with him and his father at different points. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and laughter.
I am going to leave it here for today. Think I'll head back to bed for a bit. I hope you have a good week. Take care. Chat soon. Wear the damn mask!
