Well, we ended our road trip on Wednesday as the weather had turned a bit and it just felt right to head home. We did not get to see some of our friends along the way, but we have incentive for another road trip. We met some very nice hard working people along the way - many taken aback/surprised that these "older" women were being adventurous. What a trip it was; for those that follow my personal FB page you saw albums posted with stories for every day. Thought I would post the statistics here as well: INTERESTING TRIP INFORMATION: 1. LENGTH OF TRIP – 19 DAYS (cut trip a few days early); 2. GAS STATION STOPS – 14; 3. HIGHEST PRICE PER GALLON – 4.19; 4. LOWEST PRICE PER GALLON – 3.06; 5. TOTAL MILEAGE: 4154; 6. TOTAL SPENT ON GAS – 615.97; 7. HOTEL STAYS – 12; 8. HIGHEST COST HOTEL ROOM – 210.00; 9. LOWEST COST HOTEL ROOM – 78.32; 10. STATES VISITED – 15; 11. RESTAURANTS VISITED – FORGOT TO COUNT, BUT TRIED TO DO LOCAL AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE; 12. ALBUMS CREATED – 19; 13. FAMILIES AND FRIENDS - GREAT VISITS; 14. MEMORIES CREATED - ENDLESS. I will say every state we passed through has road construction/bridge repair going on - some handle the chaos better than others. I do love how the GPS warned us of potential speed traps and backups. On occasion it rerouted us and we were very happy to be out of the fray.
We came home to a wonderful new paved driveway. We arranged to have it done while we were gone so we would have to park on the street. Our friend Mary watched over them and sent pictures/videos of the work. She made sure the new landscaping was not damaged. Our old driveway was over 20 years old and had not been sealed/repaired in years. What a difference some tar makes...LOL!
I start back to work tomorrow. I have kept in touch with my client during some of the journey. I'm sure it will be a busy week. I know her neighbors have helped out with her care while I was gone and I so appreciate it. Looking forward to walking Sweetie again as well so I hope the weather holds out.
Believe it or not I did not finish any books this past week. Not sure what I was doing except catching up with shows and mail.
