Overall, the week flew by and I can say I went five days in a row without a nap...LOL! I feel like I set myself some kind of record. I received the latest COVID vaccine, had blood work done and received my 15th treatment - only a few left.
I went out to dinner twice. One spur of the moment and it was so much fun catching up with friends from Indiana. The second was with my friends that get together monthly. Believe it or not I ate at the same restaurant two nights apart! I had something different each time and the food was delicious! I find it interesting that each time the experience was a little different because of the server. The server the first night was upbeat. Although the restaurant was busy he never pushed us to speed up and checked us without being overbearing. The server the second night did not seem happy to be there so to speak. He did his job, but I got the impression he would rather be somewhere else. He did not seem to understand a well placed/timed smile would make a little difference.
Have you ever tried to find/hire a general contractor? I want to have some work done at home and good licensed contractors can be hard to reach. I tried to set up an appointment with one and they very nicely told me they are booking jobs for fall 2024. I am so glad they are reputable and busy, but WOW! A second one has not responded yet, but I'll keep trying.
I'm making a shredded pork loin today. It's a decent size which means I can split it up and make a few meals for the freezer. I'm thinking some for chili, some for tacos/quesadillas, and some for BBQ. I won't know until I start the process later.
This past week I read: "VALIANT WOMEN" by Lena Andrews - stories of the American servicewomen who help win World War II. It's a very good history and provided details I had not known. "12 MONTHS TO LIVE" by James Patterson and Mike Lupica - interesting story about a defense lawyer and a murderr case. "PRIVATE MOSCOW" - James Patterson and Adam Hamdy - part of the Private series with lots of thrills. I watched: "761st Tank Battalion: The Original Black Panthers" on the History channel (I learned a lot). I also watched: "THE FABELMANS" (2022) - semi-autobiography of Steven Spielberg - a little long, but it shows some of the impact of family secrets.

“Fall colors are funny. They’re so bright and intense and beautiful. It’s like nature is trying to fill you up with color, to saturate you so you can stockpile it before winter turns everything muted and dreary.” – Siobhan Vivian.
“What do you use to mend a jack-o-lantern? A pumpkin patch.”- Unknown
