I had no adventures this past week - guess I'm back to boring...LOL! I worked my normal days, my hours on a few of the days have been shortened a little as the client is on the mend and needs less assistance. I'm good with the change of schedule as I knew it was to be short term.
I did have a laugh at work the other day. One of my clients lives in a gated community high-rise condo building. When I enter the vestibule, I ring the condo and she buzzes me in. It has a camera which I presumed was for security and management. On Friday, my client wanted to know whether or not the mail had been delivered (I usually see the van about 1 pm). I said I don't think so and looked out the balcony window. My client says, the mail sign is not up in the lobby. I said how do you know? I found her with the TV on looking at the camera in the vestibule. I said, I never knew you had a TV station attuned to the camera (although I should have known). She said, many neighbors watch that TV station all day and have some funny stories about the comings/goings into the building (it gives them something to gossip about). I think from now on I'll wave as I come and go.
I am one of those people, when I receive a customer service survey, 98% of the time I will complete it with factual feedback good or bad.. I sometimes wish I did not receive them so I would not have to be so honest, but oh well, they asked for it. I won't complete political surveys (which have been pinging my phone via messenger every few days); thank goodness they provide "opt out" guidance. I then report them as spammers to hopefully stop them as well. I also block any phone numbers I don't recognize as I just can't stand even answering those calls.
This past week I finished reading 3 very different books: "TWICE AS NICE" by Wanda E. Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter; part of the Amish Romance Collection. "THE BEAUTY OF WHAT REMAINS" by Steve Leder, dealing with death and grief - so touching and well written. "THE PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER" by Bill Clinton and James Patterson - politics and suspense. I also finished a couple of movies: "FALLING" (2020) and "MARKSMAN" (2021).
