I had a good week at work. I got my client to her in-person doctor appointment. The good news is she was with the doctor for about an hour going over everything. My client was very apprehensive as she was afraid the staff and doctor would treat her poorly. She said the doctor took copious notes (my client had a list of items for discussion) and went over lab results. The doctor indicated several referrals would be forthcoming. I try not to laugh as my client has had so many calls from the doctors office in the past week trying to correct the neglect of the past year. My client did indicate the visit felt different as the warmth was not there and I said as long as everyone involved was professional. We'll see where all this goes, but I'm glad it's going.
I learn so much from my client about life, loneliness, advocacy, fear, anxiety, the health care system, etc. We have great discussions and each day is a different approach to the push/pull of life.
I had a lovely dinner with friends. It was such a wonderful weather evening as we were able to sit outside on the restaurant deck overlooking the lake. It was one of those rare non-humid August evenings without bugs.
I had a massage this past week and it felt so good. She was able to massage my broken arm and manipulate my hand somewhat and it feels better and more flexible than it has in weeks. My thumb felt out of joint and painful, but now it's almost like new. I even got to the chiropractor yesterday (she broke her leg the same week I broke my arm). She's still in a cast up to her knee and walks with one crutch, but she was able to work my neck and spine. I think I got taller with the work past week...LOL!
This past week I finished reading: "THE NOISE" and "THE DEATH OF THE BLACK WIDOW SPIDER"
by James Patterson and J.D. Barker - intrigue and a bit of science fiction. Not my favorite genre, but both interesting reads. "ESCAPE" by James Patterson and David Ellis -part of the Billy Harney series. Murder/mayhem with a flawed lead character. I watched: "THE CONTRACTOR" (2022) - A discharged U.S. Special Forces sergeant, James Harper, risks everything for his family when he joins a private contracting organization. - not the best movie ever made, but I thought it was well done.
The daily and wacky holidays for the week...provides something lighthearted to think about:
