Life seems to be returning to a bit or normalcy here as kids are back in school most of the time and the traffic has picked up quite a bit. The one benefit of this crazy past year (at least from my perspective) was less traffic. Of course, road construction seems to be everywhere here. If a road is not being widened it's being fixed. Since I moved here in 1982, Route 66 in VA has been under a constant state of development (trust me I did some research). I only use it one day per week and that's more than enough. You have to be on high alert on this road at all times. Yet, even on this road I see so many distracted drivers. I am not sure how my friends have commuted on this road for years.
Work week was busy as I worked quite a few extra hours. I think I lost Saturday as I was so tired and had a headache. It did not help on Friday when I received my 2nd vaccine shot and then worked 10 hours. I napped quite a bit Saturday in my comfy chair. Did not even step outside to enjoy the beautiful day. Glad I could relax and have some down time.
Ever have one of those Harriet Homemaker moments where you think you fixed something and then it still does not work? Well....replaced my toilet handle and still having issues with toilet running some of the time. I'm getting to the point where a plumber may need to be called as it's driving me crazy.and I'm feeling defeated. Not sure when I'll learn to just call the repair people and stop trying to follow directions. Oh well, just add this to the list of things need/want done. Washing machine still down and out. Repair person had to order parts and one the manufacturer does not even make any longer so had had to go generic. Hopefully, parts will be in next week as I'm running low of clean work clothes ...LOL!
This past week I finished reading: "GOOD COMPANY" by Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney; a Jenna book club recommendation.

The quotes today are in dedication to nurses as we celebrate Nurses Week!
"Nurse: just another word to describe a person strong enough to tolerate anything and soft enough to understand anyone." author unknown
"Every nurse was drawn to nursing because of a desire to care, to serve, or to help." --Christina Feist-Heilmeier, RN
"Nurses are there when the last breath is taken, and nurses are there when the first breath is taken. Although it is more enjoyable to celebrate the birth, it is just as important to comfort in death." --Christine Bell
