Overall I had a good week - work went well with both my clients. Sometimes, in my work, it's hard for me to not speak my mind. I listen to my client's joy and heartache regarding their families and it's sometimes difficult to give a thoughtful/mindful response. The joy is the easy party, it's their heartache that touches me so. I listen intently and with much empathy. If I can't come up with a decent response, I can usually deflect to something else. It's a fine balancing act because there are no perfect families and I have no idea what happened for the many years before I was involved.
I brought my car in for a pre-purchase inspection (after the fact) and got a great report. As my favorite mechanics said, go buy a lottery ticket because you got lucky! I explained to them I had done research and why I traded in one car for another. We all had a few laughs. I'm just happy everything is good.
I made a list the other day of things I wanted to get done and believe it or not I crossed everything off the list. I even got them done in an orderly fashion. Yes, I wrote it out on paper as for me the acct of writing something down makes it real for me. Small victories bring great joy (at least to me). I just may need to continue with lists for a bit.
I am tired of political commercials - just tell me the plan and stop putting each other down. I'm also tired of scam phone calls. I hardly answer my cell phone any longer (thank goodness for caller ID). The other afternoon I had at least six scam calls within a few hours.
This past week I finished reading: "BLACK BUCK" by Mateo Askaripour (Read with Jenna selection) and "POPS" by Craig Melvin. Both good reads. What have you read over the past few months? I watched: "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016) and the National Geographic Genius Series: Aretha (2021).
