I had an interesting week as I started with oral surgery on Monday. The surgery itself was fine, but the aftermath has not been too pleasant. Turns out my abscess was much worse than originally anticipated - so although I had no pain to let me know it was there, I've had plenty of pain to let me know it's gone. The right side of my face was swollen up to my eye which was a little scary, but doing better today and the stitches have started to disintegrate. I've been on a soft/liquid diet since Monday and probably will be for at least another couple of weeks. I have a whole in my jaw bone so further work on the implant is delayed until the bone regrows. I see the surgeon tomorrow for my second follow up and then perhaps I can wear my flipper tooth. Believe when I say I'm following doctors orders...although I'm feeling a bit paranoid and feel every tooth hurts. I'm trying not to laugh or smile too much as there is a big gap. The mask has been great for covering bruising and swelling.
I worked a shortened week. It was so hot even the dog did not enjoy our walks. My client is doing well and excited her son planned to arrive last night for a few days. I think the dog missed me as she ran right to me when I opened the front door. She usually looks at me over her shoulder and runs to the bedroom to let my client know I've arrived.
I paid a short visit to a couple of friends. They live near my client and are settling into their new home and neighborhood. On the way out their development, I recognized someone walking and pulled over. She recently moved into the same neighborhood so we caught up for a few minutes. We laughed because I recognized her from the back and I said it was because she stood in front of me when we Jazzercised together.
This past week I finished reading: "22 SECONDS" by James Patterson - the latest in the Women's Murder Club Series. I watched the docuseries: "GASLIT" on Starz. It is about the Watergate Scandal, but from a different perspective and focuses on Martha Mitchell. I remember the time period and the hearings, but this is a different view.
