Today is the Fourth and Final Sunday of Advent - The fourth candle of Advent is called the “Angel Candle” and symbolizes peace. May you be filled with a peace that surpasses your circumstances.
I had a busy week. I worked every day and helped my client as much as she let me. Her family finalized plans and will visit for a couple of days. My client is over the moon as we discussed menus and such. She realized Thanksgiving wore her out so she wants to keep things simple, but plentiful. She does not want to cook, but wants a full table to graze. I mentioned charcuterie boards and she had not heard of them. I showed her pictures and she was excited. I went to the grocery store to get a few samples of items we talked about and narrowed down items to be picked up this week.
You'll be happy to know I went to the grocery store twice this week (as you all know not my favorite thing in the world). I went once at 8 am to pick up samples for my client...easy no one in store. I then went in the afternoon at my local store to pick up items for my planned Xmas menu. As I've mentioned before, I'm horrible in the grocery store because I like to wander up/down the aisles to see what's on sale. I will say my cart was full when I finished and I think I could have kept going. You know the saying, don't grocery shop when hungry...well it applied that day...LOL! It's not the looking/checking that gets to me in stores it's the checkout. Yes, I used self serve, but I get anxious about taking too long and bagging just right. My problem with self serve is there is no counter space to place groceries and/or bags from home don't fit on the little space they provide. Also, because my cart was full it was difficult to bag directly into the cart. I put my bags on the floor and put items directly in them, the clerk said something and I was embarrassed. I tried to speed up to get out of there...at least I got a senior discount! Now, I wonder if there is an item limit at self serve...I'll have to check.
This past week I finished reading: "THE SIGMA PROTOCOL" by Robert Ludlum - action packed and weaves a story from World War II to today...so good. "PRIVATE ROGUE" by James Patterson and Adam Hamdy - action packed - newest in Private series. My reading week was definitely action packed.
I watched many Christmas movies as well as "JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass" by Oliver Stone.
