I had a good week. I got some walking in, but it was slow and steady. I'm doing the stretching exercises recommended by the physical therapist so the muscles are complaining a bit.
I was a bit social as I visited with my former client for her birthday. She was ecstatic as I surprised her and brought her food and gifts. Of course, she got a little dig in about me not visiting more often, but I let it slide. I met her aid for the nurse, nice young lady just finished first year of nursing school. I got lots of dog love and fur for the road. I had dinner with friends and it was lovely. We went to our usual place, but on a different evening and what a difference in the crowd and noise level. Always good to visit with these ladies.
I took myself out to breakfast on Wednesday after my blood draw. I went to a new restaurant for me and it was lovely. I always bring a book, but I love to observe the people coming/going. It was a good breakfast and I took 1/2 home for lunch. I let breakfast digest and then went for my first full body massage since last summer. I truly needed it and when the oncologist and surgeon said go ahead and get it done, I did! My massage therapist is retiring and I wanted to see her before she closes down next week. It was great to catch up and have my muscles worked. She took the time to create a list with a couple of referrals which I will check out eventually.
I had my pre-treatment blood draw and my numbers must be going in the right direction as the doctor did not change my medication dosage for the first time in a while. I had my ninth treatment on Friday. It took three nurses and four sticks before the IV could be done. It was one of those days where my veins would not cooperate. I told them I made sure I had plenty of fluid and protein in the morning, but it is what is it. So far no bruises on either arm. I came home and took a long nap!
Warning - complete change of subject. With all the scams and talk of voice replication have you taken any extra precautions security wise? As I am an older female (LOL), I have read and heard of many scams in the area, I am always a bit cautious. I don't answer the door bell or open the door if I'm not expecting someone. With this political season it seems there are knocks quite a bit. I don't answer phone numbers I don't recognize...if it's important a message will be left. I usually block any number I don't recognize. I don't open any text messages from people I don't know and again I block/mark spam. I know I have started to receive messages from "friends" with strange attachments - I usually notify the person and mark as spam. My BFF and I also have a safe word just in case we get one of those voice replication calls asking for ransom/bail money. There are days I spend more time blocking calls and such than I do actually talking to people.
This past week I finished reading: "GLORY OVER EVERYTHING" by Kathleen Grissom - 1800s a runaway slave passing as a white aristocrat in Philadelphia must return to North Carolina to save someone and finds he is still being hunted. "REUNION AT THE SHORE" by Lee Tobin McClain - romance and redemption at the beach - easy read. I watched: "Maurice Hines - Bring Them Back" (2019) movie about the life of Maurice Hines. Also, been catching up with "The Food That Build America" on the History Channel.
