I spoke to my rheumatologist on Monday and he agreed to keep me on low dosage of Prednisone until I finish treatment in December. We had a good discussion of options and decided to wait until treatment is done to make any adjustments. I said to him - the devil I know is better than the one I don't know. Have you done a video chat with your Doctor? I had to laugh as he had me hold up my arms and bend my wrists...the funniest part was when he wanted to check my ankles/feet. Thank goodness my BFF was home and adjusted the lap top while I flexed a little.
My BFF and I got on the road Tuesday and traveled a different route to get to Minnesota. My personal FB page has lots of pictures. We took our time and made several stops along the way. We stayed in a quaint motel in Algoma Wisconsin with a phenomenal view of Lake Michigan. It was peaceful and relaxing and just what I needed. I had an adult beverage at lunch on Friday and ended up with a two hour nap.
I have to admit my joint issues go up/down so to speak. I get very stiff and need to stretch a bit before I can start to walk. At these times, I walk like a penguin or a Tim Conway character from way back. Other times, I can almost walk normal. My fingers work most of the time, but sometimes just ache. I have been able to drive and move luggage, etc. as needed so that's all that matters.
We had a great day today. Started with a brunch cruise on Lake Minnetonka with part of Minnesota family and then chatted most of afternoon. With that we ended up with an early dinner with all of them. Lots of stories and laughs - a great way to spend the day.
