Overall, it was a quiet week. I enjoyed a very nice dinner out with friends. Good food and laughter is a great way to spend some time. We chatted and got caught up as I missed the last dinner. They were impressed that my hat matched my outfit.
I tried a newer restaurant for lunch by myself and it was lovely. Although it was a lovely day outside, I sat inside out of the sun and bugs. I brought my book and relaxed. The service was attentive, but not intrusive and the food was delicious. I even picked up a to go item for the next day.
I've been packing up books to donate to the library book sale coming soon. I have lots of books upstairs related to coaching, self-help, spirituality, etc. It's time to clean out and let go of most of them. I realized I still have a few books I have not read so they will be moved to downstairs to the "to be read" pile. I can tell my body strength is not what it used to be as I've gone to smaller boxes...LOL!
This was my week for blood work and treatment. I was not even home from blood work, when I received a text indicating a prescription was ready for pick up. I thought must be a mistake, I picked up meds last week so I ignored it. The nurse called later that day to say, one med out/new med in. I said the pharmacy is quick as I was notified, but thought it was a mistake, guess I should have read the text more closely. Blood work again before treatment and everything is good. Treatment went fine, I arrived early so was done early (that does not always happen). The nurses are always so caring, but it's interesting what they focus on. One may focus on the rash (yes I still have one), if I mention something, they go check the records to see if it's better/worse. They pay attention to the small things that normally I would probably skip over. I was a bit tired yesterday, but that's normal. I also requested a schedule as far out as possible so I could plan - I now know until September where I'll be and when.
I walked most days last week which makes my chiropractor happy. My spine and hips did not adjust as easily yesterday, but she did work on stretching my quads and hip flexors. Oh well, if one thing stiffens up try another. Just keep moving so to speak.
Is it me or does it seem even to do the small things I make it more complicated? Perhaps I'm rushing or trying to take a short cut - like that ever works! Perhaps it's just the ying and yang of life, but it seems the more I try to keep it simple the more complicated it becomes...LOL!
This past week I finished reading: "AND THERE HE KEPT HER" by Joshua Moehling - intrigue in a small town with a new sheriff. "TRUE BIZ" by Sara Novic - a Reese's Book Club selection. A very interesting book set around the deaf community, sign language, lip-reading and civil rights. I watched: "TOP GUN- MAVERICK" (2022) - so very good, but so glad I did not watch in theater as my motion sickness would have been activated. "DANICA" (2017) - documentary/movie about race car driver Danica Patrick - learned a lot about her life. "80s FOR BRADY" (2023) - funny and heartwarming.
