Hi Everyone! Hope this finds you well and you had a good week. I honestly don't know where the week went...suddenly it's Sunday and the start of another week. Guess it's time to dust the Ring cameras in the back as they have been lighting up through the night for cobwebs.
I'll be home for a while without travel plans so organized a bit in my room. Still need to do a little more, but it's getting there. I spent the beginning of the week catching up on laundry and life a little bit. I did get some meals cooked this past week and already have ideas for today. I try to plan/prep more than one meal at a time to make is easier.
I saw a new physical therapist so another assessment out of the way. She was very nice and we talked while she put me through my paces. She provided me a few new exercises to incorporate into my routine. She also said to listen to my body when it needs to rest. She indicated with what happening with my joints I will definitely have good/bad days for a while. She asked about my goal for therapy and I really had to think about it. I don't know if I will get back to where I was before this started, but I want to be able to at least enjoy a walk without walking like a robot. Sounds simple, I know, but some days it is definitely not.
I had a wonderful catch-up dinner with dear friends. One of our friends hosted and cooked a fabulous dinner. We sat for a few hours and caught up about life and adventures. It was a good night.
Trying to put together my lists of things to get done before the end of the year. For example, birthday gifts, Xmas gifts, holiday planning, house stuff, etc. Receiving tons of catalogs and emails to peruse for ideas. Some items ordered and delivered...waiting on a few more. Then will take inventory again...LOL!
One crazy story from the week. I was driving to my PT appointment and I was in a road construction zone. The traffic was going from two lanes to one without much warning. I moved over between an 18-wheeler and a concrete mixer truck. The car that had been behind me had to wait a few minutes before he finally got in behind the concrete truck. Suddenly, a white pick up truck comes flying down the road and bam! I jumped 20 feet in the car and I think his mirror hit my mirror. He did not even slow down as he was wanted to be in front of the 18-wheeler. Guess I was not over far enough. Luckily, the bam only knocked my mirror back on its arm and not off. I know I saw his mirror had moved as well. I could not catch up to him as the 18-wheeler got stuck at a red light. I think when I got to the PT parking lot I was still a bit shaken so thank goodness not blood pressure check.
This past week I finished reading. "LOST AND FOUND" by Jacqueline Sheehan - quick read about a woman starting over and the dog who comes into her life. "OBSESSED" by James Patterson and James O. Born - a Michael Bennett thriller. "LION AND LAMB" by James Patterson and Duane Swierczynski - two private detectives on opposite sides searching for the truth.
Don't think I mentioned this previously. During the last part of our road trip a friend reached out asking me to pick up postcards from the different states; her daughter's class was trying to collect one from each state. I collected what I could on the way home. I reached out to her to find out if there was anything specific needed to be written on the postcard and she indicated a fun fact or two. I put everything together and sent it along. My friend reached out and had her daughter video a thank you (loved it). She loved the little fun facts I found (thank goodness for Google). By the way, the best place for postcards are Love Truck Stops - they keep a small souvenir section of the state they are in..LOL!
