I had dinner with friends and we sat outside on a nice evening. I had not been to this restaurant location previously although over the years I have driven by it several times. They added a very nice outdoor patio during the pandemic. Although it's near a busy road, it almost a quiet paradise. Good food and good friends what more can you ask for?
I went to a food truck festival yesterday. I can't imagine how busy/crowded it would have been if it had not rained. It was held in part of the parking lot of the local soccer team (did not even realize we it existed). There were at least 10 food trucks, a beer garden, an outdoor game area, and a stage for local entertainment to perform. The only problem was there was no tented area to eat so we went back to the car and nibbled away. We each got something from two different trucks and then shared and it was very good. Without the rain it would have been a good venue to spend the afternoon especially when there was no fee to enter or park.
It was a busy week at work. My client was able to move home on Friday as the HVAC ducts were cleaned on Thursday. I'm so glad they showed her pictures of before and after so she realized why we had not allowed her to move back sooner. My client's OCD ran rampant as she noticed things not put back exactly as they had been. I did as much as I could to arrange things and ease her anxiety before I left on Friday. Hopefully, she had a good weekend settling back in and used her weekend aid to get things to her liking. I am so grateful to her neighbor as I'm not sure I would have been as patient for the past six weeks.
I went to the dentist this past week for a cleaning and perhaps start the process of replacing some very old crowns. Well, that got thrown out the window as I have to start the implant process. It turns out a tooth that I thought was just chipped (near the front) - not only has two cavities, but it also has abscessed. He showed me the x-ray of the abscess and it looks contained, but it's high up in the roots. I have not had an abscess previously (my dad lost most of his teeth to abscesses) and so far I've had no pain. My dentist is very honest with me and said, if you want we can try the crown, but I don't think it will work and it will be an added expense. I was more concerned of the location and not having a tooth. I've been through implant work before so here we go again - the process takes months. I start impression work Monday and then when the temporary new tooth (called a flipper) is ready, I head to the oral surgeon.
This past week I finished reading: "BURY THE LEAD" and "SUDDEN DEATH" by David Rosenfelt - by books in the Andy Carpenter series. Enjoyable easy reading.
