Have you got your shopping and wrapping done? How about the baking? I'm almost done shopping and I've started the wrapping (not a strong suit of mine). I don't bake, but have started planning a few meals and stocking up on items needed. I know this can be a stressful time of year for many, so I'm doing my part to stay out of their way so to speak. Not always easy as everyone rushes about, but doing the best I can. Yesterday morning I felt immediate stress as the person driving the car in front of me decided he/she wanted to make a left turn from the lane I was in. Of course, there was traffic in that lane already so he/she just waited instead of going forward and at the next intersection turning around and coming back. He/She blocked the lane I was in and sat there until the coast was clear to turn. This kind of stupidity truly makes my BP go up and I want to move them out of the way. Deep breathing and severe head shaking were truly in order....ok maybe a few curse words were added in...LOL!
I had a couple of wonderful dinners with awesome friends. I love getting together and catching up over great food and wine. Both restaurants were excellent and the service impeccable. Both were Italian in nature and one was a little more upscale than the other. I hope you are able to get together with people you care about and enjoy some quality time. There are so many I won't see in person this season, but they are always in my heart and thoughts.
My work is going well. My client is trusting me a bit more every visit. In my work, it's not just about the client, but also in assisting the family as they travel this path. It's about their having trust in my ability and giving them a chance to take a break to do something without worrying. I know there is a camera in at least one room and I'm good with that as I had them as well. My client has not wandered away on me (although he is capable), but has done it to his spouse when out shopping. I finally convinced the spouse to run some of the errands without my client and I could tell she was immediately relieved. The family learned about a program called Project Lifesaver which is run through the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. What a wonderful program for those that have a tendency to wander off. My client has been enrolled and is wearing the wristband willingly. I had never heard of the program, but researched and would highly recommend if it's available in other areas.
This past week I finished a James Patterson book: Criss Cross (Alex Cross series). I have three stacks of books beside my chair so I guess I better put down the computer games I've been playing and get reading again.
