Usually I prep some of the blog on Saturday night and finish it on Sunday morning. Not this week, I was very tired (long week explained below) and then I ended up sleeping in a bit this morning. Lounging in bed is not something I do, but this morning it felt right. The change of clocks and the change of weather plays havoc on my body and my sinuses act up.
Well, what started as a slow week and me crossing items off my list turned into a busy week as I started working with a new client. My boss is good at matching clients and aids and this is a good fit. The client is closer to home so that's a plus. I also realized when I arrived in my client's development that I may run into many people I know. I agreed to work Monday thru Friday from 9 to 2. She needs more of a companion than an aid (suits me perfectly) and I walk her dog a few times during my shifts. Good for me and the dog.
I visited with my former elderly client yesterday. She was so excited to see me although she told me she was upset when I did not come back or say goodbye. She believes I retired and I let her think that. I also explained how her preference is to have someone late afternoon/evening and I am not comfortable driving at night and she completely understood. We had a nice visit (I woke her up when I arrived and I have never seen her get ready so quickly). She did tell me that I would not be idle for long as I need something to do or fix. She looked great and I promised to visit again;
This week I finished reading: "THE LAST DAYS OF JOHN LENNON" by James Patterson, Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge. Interesting as it provides the history of John Lennon and the Beatles. "GROUP" by Christie Tate (Reese's Book Club selection). How a therapist and a group of strangers saved the author's life.
