I feel like it was a busy week although I'm not sure what I accomplished...LOL! Have you ever felt that way? I did have oral surgery on Wednesday (part of the implant process) so you know the wallet (or should I say credit card) was not happy. I did get my flu shot at Kaiser while I waited for a prescription to be filled. I have never been in/out of a place so fast.
Lady was groomed this past week. She's just too cute (picture posted on my personal FB page). She's been very vocal lately. When she wants food (not what's in her bowl) she barks. When she wants attention she barks. Only when she is desperate to go out does she bark - usually she is just extremely restless. She has been sleeping most of the night though.
I spent a few hours with the lady I companion. She did not seem quite up to par, but her wit is as sharp as ever. She does make me laugh with her comments. I made sure she ate some lunch and drank plenty of fluids while I was there. She called me Friday to cancel our upcoming visit as her granddaughter will be getting married next weekend and there is much going on. I truly hope I am as sharp as this woman when I'm close to her age.
I went for an interview on Thursday with a Home Health care company to be a companion. I think I did well and will wait further information. She also talked to me about possible office work (she brought up my HR background). Either way it would be part time and, if hired, would not start until November. Hopefully, it will all work out.
I had dinner the other night with a few long time friends. I had a nice time catching up and checking in with those that came. A few are gearing up for travel over the next few weeks...so fun to think about places to go and people to see.
The dryer saga continues in Myrtle Beach. The laundry center was supposed to be delivered and nothing. Not even a call. I sent an email this morning (o'dark thirty I can get lots done) to the property management contact to find out what's happening and next steps. So frustrating to be dependent on others.
I finished reading 3 books this week. I am surprised at myself as I did not feel I spent too much time waiting around which is usually when I get the bulk of reading done. "SEARCHING FOR SYLVIE LEE" by Jean Kwok. Interesting mystery involving family secrets and dynamics. It was the last of my summer read list. "21 DAYS TO RESILIENCE" by Dr. Zelana Montminy. Self-help genre, very well written. Reminded me of many of the items I used when I was actively coaching. "THE 113 MINUTE MURDER" by James Patterson. This is actually a book with three different stories with co-authors. Quick reads of murder/mayhem.
I have felt this past week like I am surrounded by angels. I have seen right in my path (whether walking or in the car) lots of cardinals and blue jays. I know my angels appear when I am in processing and changing mode so I guess things are happening. I'm sure you have felt it in your life as well.

My thoughts and prayers are with my friend Paula as I hold her in a circle of love and healing. She had a double lung transplant the other day and is in ICU for recovery. She seems to be doing well. She was a volunteer hospice worker at the nursing home whom we got to know. She then became my mom's visitor and even after she left the company (for her health) continued to visit us at home. We have stayed in touch. I have not spoken to her since the day of surgery, but her daughter and husband have provided updates. Please include her in your prayers.
I am going to end it here for today. I hope you have a wonderful week. By the way, I finally got the apple cider donuts I have been craving for weeks thanks to my BFF. They were delicious and yes I shared! The pumpkin pie fudge was good too. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
