For all those who graduated this year...CONGRATULATIONS! It's been quite a ride for many and you've learned about life in ways that have not been normal for many and succeeded. I hope you take your tenaciousness and accomplish many good things around the world.
I saw some incredible pictures of the eclipse taken by friends in Plymouth. Even without fancy camera equipment they captured such beautiful colors and cloud formations as well as the eclipse. So awe inspiring.
The added bonus of rain is that people stop complaining about not being able to use the pool in our development. OMG what a bunch of whiners. Every day someone has to post something and that's starts the nastiness for the day. The pool can not open because there is a shortage of lifeguards. Due to liability/indemnity issues and the bylaws the HOA cannot open the pool. They are trying to hire lifeguards, but so is every other HOA in the area. I get the frustration of paying HOA dues and not being able to use the facility, but there are so many more important things to be concerned about. I have to admit it does not bother me one way or the other as I've lived here for 20 years and I can count on one hand the number of times I've been to the pool. Don't complain come up with viable solutions.
I worked my normal shifts this past week. I have to say I was exhausted, but not from the work, but from the heat. Since my client is 93, she does not turn on the AC often. Well, thank goodness I have a few dressy tank tops that I can wear because it was HOT. I had grocery shopped and cleaned a bit so I was quite warm. I don't complain as I realize that she is chilled quite often. Finally about 4 pm on Thursday afternoon she looked at me and said I'm warm (It was 91 outside and humid). I have to admit I chuckled and said well the AC is not on,only the ceiling fans, do you want me to put it on? I said the inside temp right now is 85..she said yes at least for a little while. I could have kissed her at that moment. I don't know if I've mentioned how feisty my client is, but she does make me laugh. She said to me Tuesday; "I got rid of them all! I told Cindy (my boss) that I only wanted you!" I told her I had not heard that and did she want me to change my hours to come a third day during the week. She said No, I'm fine and I'm feeling better than before! I don't push her so I just said okay. Of course, my notes to my company included this conversation so we'll see what happens from here.
This past week I finished reading: "THREE WISE MEN" by Beau Wise and Tom Sileo. About three brothers who serve in the military. I laughed and cried quite a few tears. Also, "WINDBLOWN" by Fern F. Musselwhite. About a young woman who leaves home to make her own way. Very interesting and a lighter read. As you can tell my choices were on opposite ends of the spectrum.
