I have to admit this is the first time in many years that I'm ambivalent about the Super Bowl. I think it's because none of the teams or players I follow are in the game or the announcers will be different. Don't get me wrong, I'll still watch, but perhaps not as intensely as I have in the past. I may watch some of the pre-game show, but will turn to watch the Puppy Bowl!
I am cooking this weekend. I made chili yesterday and I'm making ribs today (you'd think I was having a party or guests...LOL!). I also made some leftover baked potato home fries yesterday (first time) and they turned out delicious. We'll see if there are any other concoctions I can come up with. At least I'll have food for the week.
Another admission - I'm not an avid Olympics watcher. I do catch up via highlights and the stories of the athletes and their families touch me deeply. I don't care about who wins as long as it's fair. I think I became disillusioned with the Olympics when they let professional athletes participate.
Work went well this past week. My client accomplished a few things and that made her so happy. My client was upset with Inova Loudoun Hospital as they returned an envelope of "thank you" cards she sent to different departments from her stay in September. She put a lot of time and effort into each card so she was upset to see them returned. She sent one big envelope with the different areas addressed inside - she knows they opened the big envelope as they marked up one inside envelope and then returned everything with no hint as to why. She was so upset as I tried to look up and communicate via the website with the hospital system (useless). I took the cards and will research a better way to have them addressed for her. I know she will ask every day until I get them sent so I better get on that today.
I had a wonderful dinner the other evening with friends/former colleagues. We always have a great time when we are together. We usually go to the same restaurant where it's fun to be greeted with such warmness and treated with awesome service. Look forward to seeing them again in March.
This week I finished reading: "THE SANATORIUM" by Sarah Pearse (Reese's Book Club) - a gothic thriller (kept me guessing until the end). "BERLIN WALLS" by Bill Rapp - a Cold War Thriller (4th in series) - history and espionage. I watched the Janet Jackson documentary/series - I found it very interesting.
