Did you ever have one of those weeks that started off not so great only to have it turn around completely? That was my week. Started with the dentist advising I have a cavity on the side of my front tooth although my gums are really good. Then my van did not pass inspection as a tire had a puncture and needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced overnight and I passed inspection the next day. I did think if the week starts this way...what else can happen? Well, the week completely turned around.
I had a follow-up with the oncologist. ALL IS GOOD!!!! I will continue treatment through December and then scans/tests/followups every six months. She says so far my prognosis is excellent. She is glad I am weaning off prednisone and indicated when treatment is over much of my joint pain will more than likely go away after a few months. I know I teared up with the news and said a quick prayer of thanks to my angels. I was so excited by the news I went and bought a new laptop...LOL!
I went to the movies with some friends this week. I can't tell you the last time I went to the movies or what I saw. I know it was several years before the pandemic when I was in Plymouth. We saw Oppenheimer and it was excellent. It's a long one, but there was so much I did not know or realize about that period of time and about the man. I have to say for the first time at a movie I did not have anything to eat or drink. I knew it was a long movie and did not want to miss anything...LOL! Let's talk about the previews...YUCK! I don't think there was a movie I wanted to see. After the movie we went out to dinner and discussed what we learned.
The rest of the week was quiet. I continue to wean off prednisone and will continue for the next few days. So far so good. I am able to tolerate the joint pain and swelling. I hardly napped this week so I'm thinking my thyroid is doing better (either that or the good oncology news gave me new energy)...we'll see after the next testing.
This past week I finished reading: "HER FINAL CONFESSION"; "THE BONES SHE BURIED"; "HER SILENT CRY"; and "COLD HEART CREEK" - by Lisa Regan - books 4 thru 7 of the Detective Josie Quinn series. Some people binge watch TV shows - I binge read book series.
