I had a good week overall. It was a busy week of medical appointments and my third treatment. I had a follow-up with my surgeon and everything looks good so far. My scalp is healing nicely and there were no extra lumps and bumps in my neck area. I'll see her again in a few months. My treatment went well and so far just a bit tired as usual. My BP is finally behaving which made the nurse extremely happy - it's amazing what one little pill can do. I did get in a little trouble as I have to have blood work completed before my treatment. Well, since I was in the center on Monday I had it done then. On Thursday I received a call from the oncology appointment reminding me of my treatment appointment and inquiring as to my blood tests. I replied that it was done on Monday and I thought the nurse was going to have my head. I am to have the tests done 48 hours in advance not the week of. I offered to have them redone that day, but she she would advise the doctor and call me back. Since she never called me back it was good. I told the nurse I promised to never to do it early again. Who knew two days could make a difference.
I did work one day with my client. I took her to a Dr appointment and then to CVS. She can get in/out of my van easier than the truck her new aid drives. She had a week of different aids as she had multiple appointments. We had a good shift together and it was a beautiful day to be out and about.
I was able to get a few days of walking in. I'm trying to incorporate a few additional steps here and there. I purposely walked around the parking garages at appointments or walked around the complex when I was early (you know I'm always early). When I work, I walk the dog twice and since I walk her longer than the other aids, its good for both of us.
Well it's Super Bowl and Puppy Bowl Sunday! Are you ready for the all that goes along with this day? I honestly don't care who wins, but always find the hype so interesting.
I want to write a moment about forgiveness whether giving or receiving. I know it's one of the hardest things to do, but so important for yourself more so than others. We have all done things we are not too proud of and sometimes hurt others in the process. Or, we had things happen to us that had major impact. Forgiveness does not make the incident go away (it happened), but it makes it easier to go forward. When I trained to be a life coach we discussed forgiveness quite a bit and practiced meaningful exercises to help us heal. I was forever changed by these practices and still use them today for myself and to help others. Perhaps it's my age, but I find forgiveness comes a bit easier these days and provides much more healing. After all, letting baggage go makes the journey a little lighter.
This past week I finished reading: "BEST IN SNOW," "DOG EAT DOG," AND "SILENT BITE" all part of the Andy Carpenter Series by David Rosenfelt. "THE BEEKEEPER OF ALEPPO" by Christy Lefferti - a couple's migrant journey from war torn Aleppo to the United Kingdom - so moving. "FOR YOU WHEN I'M GONE" by Steve Leder - provides twelve essential questions to tell a life story.
