The signs of spring are everywhere here. Our spring maintenance was done outside so the yard looks really good and the smell of mulch permeates the air. We've had a bit of rain this past week and even thunder/lightning yesterday. The only problem with spring at our house is it brings out the tiny ants...not as bad as previous years, but still what a pain. The pest control people came right away, but with the rain the next day did not want to spray outside yet so put some bait down. He's due back this week to spray the outside.
I drove around in circles two days in a row to find the Rapidpass emissions boxes. The first day they did not put them up because of bad weather, but did not update the website early enough that I would know. The second day I drove through so now to check to see if I can find the results. In the past two weeks I've driven through two purposefully so we'll see what happens. If not, I'll find a service station this week. Doing this exercise made me realize how little I have driven myself anywhere in the area in the past year. Although I felt like I drove quite a bit to treatment, tests, etc, apparently not in the right areas. Guess I better get out a bit more this year.
I had a nice lunch with friends the other day. We went to a local restaurant which changed ownership within the past year and was struggling for a bit. The service and food was very good so guess I need to add it to my rotation.
I took the third weekly dose of my new medication and realized I don't have enough for my next dosage. I read the amount on the bottle which was the correct dosage for a month, but was short three pills. I've never had that happen before so I reached out to the doctor as I am supposed to have blood work after a month of the meds. He told me to go ahead with labs and then he would refills meds. But I had to go to pharmacy yesterday to pick up something else and mentioned to pharmacist. She immediately offered me the missing meds, which I accepted. I notified the doctor that I'm back on track and will be okay to complete a full month. I feel like I will need to count out this medication when I pick up to be sure it's the right amount for the time period...just to be sure.
I had an awesome massage on Thursday. Just the right amount of pressure to move the muscles and get some of the inflammation down. We had a wonderful discussion about travel and energy work. This was my third massage therapist in as many visits and I will gladly continue to see any of them again.
This past week I finished reading: "THE MEMORY POLICE" by Yoko Ogawa - trauma of loss mixed with a sort of science fiction tale. It was a bit off my normal reading path. I'm not sure I enjoyed it, but did finish it. "THE GUNCLE" by Steven Rowley - family and grief dealt with a side of humor. It was a fairly easy read. "THE READING LIST" by Sara Niska Adams - how books can impact lives. Very well written as each book had a purpose. I've keep a copy of the list. I watched "Barbra Streisand Back To Brooklyn" on PBS. It was filmed in 2012, but I had never seen it...very good.
I'm one of those people who don't watch award shows and most game shows. Just not my thing. I can't stand the hoopla, drama and mainly fakeness of those partaking in the event. I know I'm weird that way, but it's just the way I am.
